Rock-top defence

Ideally starting with a far area horde set-up, drive or run the short distance to the large rock just around the corner to the right, then clamber up on top and whittle down the enemy from there (ideally with a pistol, though the sniper rifle also springs to mind). You should have a fine view of them across the plain, and can have fun raining grenades down into any concentrations, such as you often get in the small semicircular area formed by low rocks beneath the huge rock just across the way. It's not an intense battle, but it's got some novelty value.

This plan depends on the rock geometry of course. You'll need a set-up in which this particular rock is climbable. In one set-up I've got, the rock has a nice sloping face on my side of it, which not only lets me climb up but also lets me easily duck back a bit for cover when needed, such as when the Elites take offence at my peppering their heads with pistol rounds and reply with a dose of piping hot plasma.
