Bottom of the central shaft

Near the start of the level you find yourself at the base of the shaft that runs up through the level. There are eight teeth pointing in to the centre, and there's a nasty drop down into a bright area too hazy to see properly. If you return here with the overshield from later on this first floor, you can jump down and survive. I don't say there's a lot to look at down there, but it's a novelty to see it at last. If you like though, you can get a herd of spores to join you down there for a bit of fooling about.
