BCM575 - 38-covie glasshouse battle x3, AR & pistol
(6:34) Level 5 ('Assault on the Control Room') on Legendary. I wanted to include some pistol use in my spell of glasshouse battling, so here's a triple play in which it backs up an AR. Again I'm using the same 38-covie set-up, featuring seven Elites.

Commentary
00:02 (Play 1 - Inner area) Braving the inner area with so many Elites around is highly risky, but in this play I do well in the early phase, which is dominated by grenade work and close-range AR fire. Once things become less frenetic, pistol use becomes safer.
02:22 (Play 2 - Going right) Going down the right is much easier and I do pretty well in the opening phase, though a red Elite takes me by surprise around 2:49. Turning up faster than expected, he wipes three of my health bars before going down from a tag.
Another mistake comes around 3:37 when I expose myself to Elite fire from above. Should've recharged at least, but I was trying to push on. With only three health bars left, that could've made things tough killing the remaining two Elites, both red. But fortunately they go down quite quickly from grenade work.
04:20 (Play 3 - Going left, using new tactic) For this last play I use a new tactic in attacking down the left. An early pistol shot attracts some Elites up the left side, then after using a frag to deal with a troublesome nearby Grunt, I throw a frag to detonate two loose plasmas (from a patrolling Elite who was culled in the set-up work). Works very nicely on this occasion, killing two red Elites plus the Jackal.
There's an amusing bit around 5:30. I throw a plasma grenade into the glasshouse and it happens to tag an Elite, who's subsequently seen running with it. I hadn't even seen him!
When I go up the ramp around 5:39, I soon realise that there's a red Elite left. I try to run clear of his line of fire but get blocked by a Grunt. I mow the Grunt down though, and fortunately manage to tag the Elite; otherwise things could've got nasty!
Closing remarks I think that'll do it for the glasshouse movies for now, but I may do another in a while, on the theme of storming the glasshouse. For this present movie I actually spent quite a bit of time trying to storm it, which was going to be the final play. But it was crazy hard to make a successful assault, and once inside, my weapon combo was not at all suited to holding off the covies who soon started coming up the ramps. For that I really wanted a rocket launcher or plasma weapons. Those are the weapons I'll likely focus on if I do a glasshouse storming movie.
