Commentary

00:02 (Play 1 - Path top defence with Banshee cover) One thing you can do with your Banshee is use it for static cover, and that's what I do in this path top defence, settling it near the path edge. Around 0:45 the cloaked Elite unexpectedly sneaks through the small gap on the inside but I manage to rocket him without disrupting my cover.

Not long after that, I see that a bunch of Elites is on the verge of overrunning the Banshee, so I drop a plasma grenade to blast it, which might also send it tumbling forward into some covies. Unfortunately a Marine has moved into the blast radius, and fails to get clear. Oh well! The Banshee ends up still on the path edge, and I continue to use it as cover for a while.

When I throw my next plasma around 1:18, I see that the Banshee is about to get blown off the edge, and on the spur of the moment I add a rocket, hoping to send the Banshee into a glut of minor covies further back, but it doesn't quite make it. Would've been nice though! I annihilate those covies with a rocket strike instead.

In the remaining play I almost get killed after taking too many needles from the tree Elite, and just after that, I make a bad decision when I try to jump past a Grunt I explosively needle, which sets my shield bleeping again. But in the end, victory is achieved.

02:21 (Play 2 - Path base defence, pistol & plasma rifle) In the last movie's path base defence I made use of a rocket launcher, but this time I'm raising the challenge, trying to hold out with a pistol and plasma rifle. Plus a whole load of grenades of course! And it really is quite a challenge, to combine those ingredients efficiently. Especially in regard to grenade use. My early work goes well, and one Elite even gets tagged (my second plasma throw, at 3:10).

Around 3:30 I see the cloaked Elite coming down the path and I try to get him, but lose him in the mess of explosions. All of a sudden he emerges, and he's coming at me with his sword! He closed in much faster than I was expecting. With my plasma rifle overheating, I back off until he's taken a bit more damage from the Marines, then I go for a whack. Fortunately that's enough to finish him. Otherwise I would've been toast!

After the covie flow has ended I take an aerial shortcut to start tackling the remaining covies, leaving the Marines to catch up. An enjoyable tactic, if a little gung-ho.

05:38 (Play 3 - Cloaked assault) Finally, here's a mischievous cloaked assault, featuring a glorious cataclysm amongst the blocked mob. Now if that doesn't put a smile on your face, you're playing the wrong game! A mystery blast hurts me around 6:41, and a couple of Marines are lost along the way, but the final scenes of carnage are worth it.

Closing remarks Also in this movie, I featured two novel flying patterns at the starts of the first two plays. Hope you enjoyed those!
