BCM599 - 38-covie glasshouse battle x3, rocketing and more

(6:57) Level 5 ('Assault on the Control Room') on Legendary. In this second triple-play of the glasshouse battle save used in the previous movie, I focus on using the rocket launcher, sniper rifle and needler, each time coupled with an AR. See how the 38 covies fare!

Released October 22nd 2025, gameplay recorded October 20th-21st 2025.

Commentary

00:02 (Play 1 - AR & launcher, glasshouse storming) Storming the glasshouse on Legendary is generally bad for your health, but my stealthy grenade blitz actually kills all three of the Elites assigned to it, with an impressive chain reaction at the end. Thereafter, the rocket launcher helps me fend off incursions. Things get a bit fraught with the final two red Elites who get in, but I prevail and still have two health bars left for the Grunt clearance outside.

02:07 (Play 2 - AR & sniper rifle, going left) Using the sniper rifle here has to be done rather carefully, and that's what I try to do in this play. In particular there's a phase where I snipe glasshouse troops from the outer shelving, with light amplification turned on. Part way through that, I almost get myself killed by running in on a red Elite at the bottom of the ramp, but luckily the blast only wipes four of my health bars (a fifth then gets immediately lost due to Grunt fire). Silly cyborg!

Let me also mention an earlier bit, when I was still down the left. Just after I deal with a Jackal around 2:46, a nasty red Elite comes running at me. Figuring that he's going to keep on coming, I charge forth out of cover, deliberate provoking a swipe. He misses by a mile and is left looking like a chump, in view of the plasma grenade fizzing on him. Pleased with that move!

04:24 (Play 3 - AR & needler, going right) For going down the right, I was originally coupling the AR with a pistol. I obtained a fairly fast play for the movie, but later thought it wasn't exciting enough, because my early grenade work helped me clear loads of covies without too much trouble. That's when I decided to try bringing in the needler instead, and taking a very aggressive approach with more shooting, and especially needling. And certainly, it gave a lot more excitement as I got into the swing of things and settled on particular tactics.

In this play I make good use of needle streams through the side openings of the glasshouse to take care of the Elites there. Some nice comedy moments here too, including a raging red Elite getting a whack in the face. He ran right into that!

Closing remarks Okay, next up, something special for the six-hundredth movie in the series. I've been working away on that for some days now. Almost finished!
