Grunty grenade barrage

Have you ever been over above the tunnel entrance at the start of the highway? You can get up easily from over on the right - you can even drive up. If you're up there with the Catch and Thunderstorm skulls on after triggering an enemy retreat, you can get a few Grunts down below lobbing grenades up pretty much non-stop. But as long as you sidestep, the grenades usually sail past and hit the hillside further back. It's good fun, and one thing you might like to do is actually have your back to the Grunts so you can watch the grenades sail past and explode. Another idea: bounce up and down in a grav lift as the throws come in.

Setting up

Here's a recipe for setting this up with a convenient checkpoint. You may like to use Easy so things are at their most forgiving, but Normal and Heroic are also fine (I didn't bother checking Legendary). Remember to have the Catch and Thunderstorm skulls on. Have the IWHBYD skull on for the widest variety of Grunt cries as they throw.

Arrive at the battle alone in a Warthog and kill the Marines quick to avoid Grunt casualties. The chain-gun can do a good job of that. Next kill the Chopper Brutes; it's easy to pick them off from a safe distance with a beam rifle. Preferably also kill any Brutes that have beam rifles; but happily there aren't any on Easy or Normal.

Get above the tunnel. When you kill enough of the remaining enemies (focus on Brutes, initially the closer ones) you trigger a checkpoint and a retreat. The enemies from around the furthest overturned truck retreat to the right of the hovering platform, and the two Grunts in that group will start throwing (stand on the rocky patch above the tunnel). You may also have three Grunts on the left that are close enough to do throwing, or possibly they'll be further back. Actually, that threesome will potentially take over at the spot next to the platform if you care to thin out the group there.
