BCM562 - Pyramid megabattle x2 with tailored new set-up
(6:53) Level 8 ('Two Betrayals') on Normal. First a news flash. I've decided to reclassify that last scenario as a megabattle, because it's really got that vibe. So it's now the pyramid megabattle. In that last movie I adapted a descent fight save, but this time I've tailored a set-up from scratch, with much better weapon provision and an excellent new Wraith placement. Also I've used Normal, which I think is going to be the ideal difficulty level for this megabattle (as with some of the others). Anyway, enjoy these two plays. More to come!

Commentary
00:02 (Play 1 - Needler & rocket launcher) At the start of this play, the path group 3 covies have already come down onto the snow and mingled with the snow troops, making a good-sized mob where I'm attacking. That includes three Elites (one of which is initially by the tree on the left, near the extra Banshee), but others come across from the other side later.
It's battling such as this which persuaded me to re-brand the scenario as a megabattle, because the combat is pretty glorious. For the attack position I'm using here, notice that there's a spare needler handy (from which I keep topping up), as well as a plasma pistol and plasma rifle. I put the needler and plasma pistol slightly behind a rise, hoping that this would reduce their vulnerability to being blown away by Wraith blasts.
An amusing highlight comes around 2:16 when I make the Elites dive off the bridge. My subsequent fuel rod shot misses (I was hoping to blast them just after they landed), but I do a nice splattering job instead.
Incidentally, around 2:00 there was a curiosity. My fuel rod shot landed right next to a Jackal at the tunnel entrance, yet he some how survived. Something odd must've occurred there, which I suspect is linked to the unusual flooring in the tunnel.
03:06 (Play 2 - Shotty & needler) A very different start this time, as I fly to a corner spot on the other side and soon take up position behind a large rock, which makes a good hold-out spot with the shotty.
When it comes to dealing with the path group 2 covies hanging around near the tunnel entrance, I try to drop the Banshee on them for fun. Doesn't quite work out, but there's some amusement anyway.
Closing remarks If you're wondering how I got the Wraith up there, well it does take a bit of effort to get it past the rocks and up the ramp, but you can do it.
In both plays I deliberately left the Wraith destruction until the end, as it makes a nice conclusion and it also means the music kept going in the meanwhile.
