BCM584 - Spiral path megabattle, further plays

(7:17) Level 5 ('Assault on the Control Room') on Heroic. Here are three noisy plays of the Ghost-enhanced modification seen created in the previous movie, including a new side attack plan at the path base, which the covies aren't going to like at all!

Commentary

00:02 (Play 1 - Path base defence) I start this battle using a pistol and rocket launcher, with which I do some decent work (although one rocket goes high), including taking out the camo Elite early on. One amusing detail: around 1:18 when I rocket the Ghost to get a Jackal, the Ghost ends up splattering a blue Elite attacking a Marine.

When we start to get overrun, it's panic stations and I jump into the Ghost to try and retrieve the situation. So, that's one way you could a Ghost positioned down here. A handy tool for emergencies!

02:53 (Play 2 - Path base defence, side attack) So, how do you like this new tactic with a Ghost? The Ghost can do an excellent job of slaughtering covies when they get near the bottom of the path. While doing this, I'm careful to keep looking the right way so the game doesn't remove any of the bodies or dropped plasmas, because I want to see a big chain reaction at some point. On this occasion I initiate one with a grenade, after getting ejected from my Ghost by a friendly frag A couple of Marines fail to get clear in time, but that's not my fault is it?.

Note: when doing my initial Banshee shot to release the mob, I was specifically trying to strike an Elite standing just behind the middle of the rightmost Ghosts. I'd realised that such a blast opened a good big hole, leading to a very strong Elite charge, so that's what I was often going for in my plays. I didn't do this in play 1 though.

05:42 (Play 3 - Blockade scuffle) An explosive and glorious little scuffle up top, to finish. Some very nice sights there, as I pour on the hurt. I especially like it when a Jackal comes flying overhead around 6:38, thanks to a plasma I threw.

Closing remarks After having by now done quite a bit of play with the modification, I must say that the added Ghosts are working out very nicely, and their positions seem pretty ideal.
