BCM592 - Spiral path megabattle, rear attack x3 with no rockets
(6:27) Level 5 ('Assault on the Control Room') on Heroic. With the same spiral path megabattle save as in the last movie, I again undertake some rear attacks, but this time without the luxury of rockets. That tends to make battles a bit longer, so we've only got three this time.

Commentary
00:02 (Banshee; needler & pistol) Nice opening Banshee blast here, sending the two Jackals flying away on either side of the rock. When I disembark from the Banshee, I send it towards the mob with a plasma grenade fizzing on the rear, hoping to cause some splattering. You'll notice that I also target it with a plasma grenade later on (1:09).
Around 1:25 I get a welcome influx of needles, but it was annoying that the plasma grenades vanished as they went out of sight, just before I would've picked them up. That highlights a shortcoming of the game. Potential supplies shouldn't get removed when they're so close to you. And especially when you're moving towards them!
Around 1:39 I'm in a precarious state with a bleeping shield and only two red bars of health, when I happen across a sheltering red Elite I hadn't realised was there. I thought I was going to die then, but luckily he goes down quickly and I get away with it, though there's still some delicate movement needed to evade Hunter swipes.
02:07 (Banshee; plasma pistol & AR) A rather dangerous tactic this, hiding behind the Banshee at close range to the covies. On a number of plays when trying this, the Hunters sent delayed shots at the Banshee, killing me. On this occasion however, that danger moment passes, allowing me to have some fun intermittently popping out to throw grenades (a couple of which tag covies).
Admittedly, the battle was speeded up a little by the fact that I sent in a Banshee bolt from up high prior to settling, but I couldn't resist it!
04:19 (Ghost; needler & plasma rifle) When cruising through the mob, I'm fortunate to splatter one of the Hunters. A major help, as those guys are a massive threat and have so often blasted me to kingdom come. I also happen to tag an Elite with my opening plasma throw (5:02).
In the subsequent action I somewhat push things, and really should've taken a bit of time to let my shield recharge. But I get through this phase with two health bars left, so that's okay.
I almost get killed by a red Elite who got past the blockade though. It was a mistake to do a jump to briefly get a better angle on him for my needles. Didn't need to do that. I go down to my last health bar, but fortunately he's in trouble too, and backs off. When I tag a Grunt, he then gets amusingly Grunt-bombed. Not seen, but heard. Amusing!
Closing remarks Be sure to stick around for an interesting development on this rear attack business, coming next. I put a load of clutter in the pass, and it's a lot of fun!
